Software setup for cam models

Most platforms let you go live straight from your browser. That’s fine to start. As you get serious, dedicated software gives you better quality and more control.

Option 1: stream from the browser

Click “Broadcast” or “Go live”, allow camera and microphone access, and you’re on. It’s the simplest option and ideal for your first shows. The downside is less control over image quality, bitrate and scenes.

Option 2: OBS (free)

OBS Studio is free, open-source streaming software used by most serious streamers. Several platforms recommend it (BongaModels, for example, highly recommends OBS for better video and audio quality). With OBS you can:

• adjust resolution, bitrate and colour;
• add scenes (for example “starting soon”, “be right back”);
• combine cameras and overlays like your tip menu or goal;
• use filters for noise suppression and colour correction.

Your platform gives you a stream key and server URL in its broadcast settings. Paste them into OBS, press “Start streaming”, and treat the key like a password.

Option 3: the platform’s own software

Some sites have their own streaming app (LiveJasmin and XCams, for example), which can give better quality or ranking benefits on that platform. Check your model dashboard.

Streaming from your phone

BongaCams, CamSoda, Cam4 and others support mobile broadcasting through an app or the mobile site. It’s great for flexibility, but watch your background and location even more closely. Nobody unverified may appear on camera.

Interactive toys

Bluetooth toys that react to tips are among the most popular features on token sites. Viewers tip to make them vibrate, often in quick succession. Most platforms integrate with major brands directly or via the toy maker’s app. Read our interactive toys guide before buying.

Bots and room apps

Token sites offer bots that greet newcomers, thank tippers, show your tip menu and run countdowns. Set up at least a welcome message and a tip-menu reminder before your first show.

Multistreaming (streaming to several sites at once)

Tools and restreaming services can send one stream to several platforms. Only do this where the terms allow it:

• Chaturbate’s terms explicitly say broadcasters are free to cam on other sites (you may not promote other sites in your room).
• For other platforms, check the model agreement or ask support first; breaking exclusivity rules can cost you your account and balance.

Managing several chat windows at once is also demanding. Many performers do better focusing on one site at a time.
